MY OJT EXPERIENCE IN THE ACCOUNTING OFFICE
When undergoing OJT, you learn the processes and procedures your employer uses. You may also learn how to operate any equipment, tools or machinery required for your position.
The accounting department refers to the division in a firm that looks after the preparation of financial statements, maintenance of general ledger, payment of bills, preparation of customer bills, payroll, and more. In other words, they are responsible for managing the overall economic front of the business. It is impossible for any business, whether a small firm operating out of home or a large multinational company, to function for too long without an accounting department.OJT in Accounting Office made me realize how hard working in Accounting Office is. It taught me how to be patient, passionate, focus, respectful, professional, and hardworking. One of the most important things you can gain from an internship is newfound knowledge. This can include knowing how to fulfil tasks that are relevant to your desired career path and sharpening the skills that you already possess.
Many students think an internship mainly consists of making coffee and running errands for superiors all day, but that is not true. And really it shouldn't be like that. An internship is an opportunity to test out all the skills that you develop in college and see how they work in the real world.
With internship opportunities, such as the Accounting firm you will get an idea of what your biggest strengths are, as well as areas of improvement you should work on.
Each person you talk to, work with, or report to become part of your network. Doing your job well means your network will remember you, and may even consider you for future career opportunities. OJTs are also a great way to expand your network on social media.
.
I'm so grateful for the advice and for the experience being with you guys. As a result of this experience, I'm more excited than ever to pursue a career and feel well-equipped to take some challenges.
OJTs are great ways to network.
